Drum Kit Performance Grades offer support and inspiration for students at all levels
Developed with respected drummers and experts, the syllabus covers a range of styles and techniques. Available from Initial Grade to Grade 8, it’s packed with original and classic tracks plus opportunities to play accompanied and solo. Explore a diverse mix of genres including jazz, hip-hop, pop, rock, funk, reggae, Afrobeat, fusion, heavy metal, drum ‘n’ bass and more!
The exams are supported by nine books of Drum Kit Exam Pieces
Each book includes nine pieces with access to audio backing tracks. As well as providing pieces for the exam, the books offer a great source of graded music for playing in any setting.
For the exam, candidates record a continuous performance of four pieces
Three pieces must be from the Drum Kit Exam Pieces book for the grade. The fourth piece is own-choice. Candidates can play another piece from the Exam Pieces book or any other piece of broadly the same standard or above.
Booking Drum Kit Performance Grades is simple
They’re available on demand and you can record them wherever and whenever candidates feel comfortable and ready. You can book exams and submit recordings from 3 June 2024.
