Chief Examiner visits Athens
In September 2005 over 50 teachers took advantage of an opportunity to meet Clara Taylor, the Associated Board’s Chief Examiner, at a seminar in Athens. Organized by our Represenative in Athens, Eftichia Adilini Bobis, the seminar focused on sight-reading and aural tests, with Clara working with a number of young musicians to demonstrate different ways to prepare for these important technical requirements.
The seminar was valuable for both the teachers and for the students taking part. Eftichia commented that “Clara’s work with the students really boosted their confidence. She managed to sort out any problems they might be having without making them feel uncomfortable or intimidated in any way”.
And for Clara the seminar was a rewarding and enjoyable experience. "The enthusiasm and friendliness of the teachers in Athens says much about their commitment and attitude to their work. Eftichia Adilini Bobis was so helpful and efficient, making my brief trip extremely enjoyable. I hope we may build on this visit and meet again before too many more exam sessions have passed."
