Exam candidates may be entered by a school, a teacher of music, a parent or guardian. Adult students over the age of eighteen may enter themselves.
Anyone who makes an ABRSM exam entry becomes an 'applicant'.

Can everyone make an online exam entry?
The online exam entry form is currently available to applicants in the UK, Singapore and Malaysia only. Hong Kong applicants can enter online via HKEAA.
Applicants from other countries must enter exams by post. Details of exam appointments and results will also be provided by post.
Please note that:
- The online form cannot be used for Ensembles exams or Diplomas, for which the appropriate paper form must be completed
- You must register as an exam applicant at least 24 hours before the closing date in order to make an exam entry online
- Details of exam appointments are available online in the UK, Republic of Ireland and Malaysia only
- Details of exam results are available onlne in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Malaysia and Singapore only
The form caters for all solo graded music exams.
