Our new Bowed Strings syllabus is now available. As well as new set pieces for Violin candidates, our new syllabus also outlines our revised scales and sight-reading requirements for Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass.
You can find out more about the new requirements in our short online guide and download sample sight-reading tests from www.abrsm.org/newstrings.
Violin Exam Pieces
A selection of nine pieces from ABRSM's Violin syllabus for 2012–2015 is included in each volume of Violin Exam Pieces (Grades 1–7).
Each album features three pieces from each of Lists A, B and C providing appealing and varied repertoire from which to create a balanced programme for the exam or a concert. They also contain helpful information about the pieces and the exam.
Violin Exam Pieces are also available as separate violin parts (Grades 1–5) and with CD recordings (Grades 1–7). A separate recording of the entire Grade 8 syllabus is available.
Violin Star is a new series of easy repertoire pieces for beginners through to ABRSM Grade 2 violinists. The series comprises three levels, with a student's book and accompaniment book available for each.
Books 2 and 3 include pieces from ABRSM’s new 2012–2015 Violin syllabus.
