LRSM support courses

Music Performance and Instrumental/Vocal Teaching

TeachingDuring 2012 our Hong Kong Development Officer, Bill Thomson, will be leading support courses dedicated to preparation for the ABRSM LRSM (Instrumental/Vocal Teaching) and LRSM (Music Performance) diplomas.

These courses are a response to teachers who frequently express interest for themselves and their students but who find it difficult to obtain support for LRSM qualifications. The courses are designed for teachers and performers preparing for their LRSM diploma.

When are the courses?

Each course lasts 8 days and requires a total of 28 hours study.

How much does it cost?

The full 8 day courses cost HK$8,888. The fee for CT ABRSM holders and DipABRSM holders is HK$8,000.

What will I learn?

  • LRSM (Instrumental/Vocal Teaching) course topics include Pedagogy; Viva and communication skills; Case study preparation and Quick Study preparation
  • LRSM (Music Performance) course topics include repertoire; art of performance; stylistic awareness; Viva and communication skills; Written submission and Quick Study preparation

Please note that places are limited to 20 on each course.

There are no prerequisite qualifications but it will be assumed that applicant are preparing for the LRSM diploma exam. There is no certificate for these courses as they represent a preparatory course of study.

The closing date for applications to the courses is Monday 5 December 2011.
