Sibelius Student Composer Competition Sibelius's second annual student composer competition - for anyone aged 10-18 years - is now open for entries with a closing date of 31st October. Entries are invited in three categories - jazz, film and classical/contemporary - and judges include Lord Puttnam, Howard Goodall and Oscar winning composer Dario Marianelli (Atonement) alongside Karl Jenkins, Leonard Slatkin and jazz musicians Billy Cobham and Django Bates. Prizes include masterclasses with members of the judging panel, plus winners' compositions performed by a live ensemble. Software and cash prizes will also be awarded.
