There is an awkward turn in Grade 5 C1 Flood Time.
Is it permissible to photocopy the first page in order to avoid this, provided it is discarded afterwards?
Thanks
Barbara

None of mine are doing that one (thankfully - they all seem to love the Gershwin piece (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) but yes, as far as I'm aware copying a page to avoid an awkward turn is perfectly allowable.

I think that photocopying the awkward page is much better than having to stop to turn over the page, even though you are not penalised if there is an interruption in the flow in order to make the turn (sure I've read this somewhere on AB site).

Yes, it is allowed and I've done it quite a few times.

I had a candidate do this a week ago...because she'd brought her copy of the accompaniment without the solo part! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) I apologised to the examiner on her behalf before we played the piece...

It is perfectly OK. I've done it lots of times. I usually sellotape the copied page into the book so that three pages open in front of the pupil and I tell them to be sure to position the music so they can read the three pages easily.

I have never mentioned it to an examiner - neither have I mentioned the fact that I do this for any awkward turns in the accompaniment copy as well.

No one has ever commented and if they did I think it would be fair to tell them that in most countries the photocopying of very small amounts of copyright materiel for purely individual educational use is acceptable.
