The circular reading room was always spectacular

Indeed, I should have said there were a group of us and we had a conducted tour, including a visit to the archives, and also the lab where they restore tired and damaged documents. We also went on to the roof for the views.

I teach two lovely children whose parents are solicitors, and the little boy (8) has an incredible sense of humour for one so young, resulting in constant banter in lessons. This was last night's conversation.

Boy: Mummy
Mum: Yes?
Boy: Can we give Norway's phone number to Crimewatch?

It was a 'look after Anna (2)' day again so I am still smiling and she left an hour ago

They would need a good sense of humour with two solicitors for parents. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It's that brief time of year when Wednesday rehearsals finish and it's still nearly full daylight. The 14 mile drive home (rural A roads) took 19 minutes, all within the requisite speed limits (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) The roads were very quiet too.

Just got back from my first ever paid horn job. So excited, still buzzing! I've loved this instrument from the minute I picked it up out of the case, and still can't quite believe someone would actually pay me to play it. And tomorrow I get to do it all again!

Life is fine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Glad you enjoyed it. In the summer after I completed my A levels I spent a month doing a play in central London. In all we did 17 performances of the same play and I had got a bit fed up with it by the end. And I do really enjoy playing the violin but don't think I would ever want to swap my day job to do it for a living.

I did, I really did (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I used to do loads of them on oboe, before I stopped playing. Never thought I'd ever make it on horn though.

Can see how it might get less exciting. The bassoonist had a Kindle on the stand. No noisy page turns and no back-lighting: perfect for a pit! If it looks like more 'work' comes my way, I may have to invest...
