OK, if we're going to do this, I think I have a piece that will work.
I can accommodate: Flutes Oboes F and C recorders, including bass clef instruments Clarinets Alto or Tenor Saxophones Bassoon Violins Violas Cellos Up to 3 people one hand each on the piano. I'm prepared to volunteer to conduct, unless someone wants a go at that (it's a 3/4 job). Any other instruments need fitting in? |

*starts plotting* - we could organise a grade zero instrument swap - everyone gets a ten minute lesson on an instrument they?ve never played before and half an hour?s practice and then we have a grand performance - a sort of abbreviated grade one challenge? I will come if someone let's me try out a viola and oboe! |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I am so, so, so sorry I'm missing this. I would happily have exchanged my oboe for your bassoon! I also have a viola waiting to be fixed which I haven't yet played... This sounds as though it's going to be heaps of fun. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Having said this was a good idea, I ought to point out that in my case, it took something approaching 20 minutes for me to get my first note out of a flute, so I might not be too successful with another instrument that requires me to blow into it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .I can bring a spare flute if required - it is a bit old, but still plays (or it did the last time I tried it!) Sorry you can't make it Katica, I was looking forward to meeting up with you. |

OK, perhaps we had better be a teensy bit organised about this. How about everyone PMs me with a list of instruments they can bring (and teach someone enough to get a few notes from) and possible instruments that they would be prepared to try and I’ll come up with some sort of list so we can see if this is really a goer. I’ll keep the list updated as I hear from people.
So far we have Katyjay as Bandmaster/Conductor Instruments available Sue HM - harp, flute, trumpet (extremely limited capability!), xylophone Gedall40 - flute Katyjay - big recorders, flute, violin, clarinet MusicalNitWit - alto saxophone Devonclari - clarinet, treble recorder *goes off hopefully to empty in-box* |
