Still no results form the 13th (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Not had mine from the 6th either but i have spoken to AB again and they are looking at it. THe QA manager wasn't in until today and they didn''t start back until the 2nd Jan I'm bored of waiting now!! Do you think we should tell them to forget and ask for our money back (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ? It seems results from the 13th were available last Thursday so it's nearly a week later now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) . Maybe there is some sort of problem with one of them. It is most frustrating now. I was promised that I would get them in the post by "the end of the week" which, given that the postal closing date for this term's entries is on Friday, would be helpful! |

I've had mine from the 17th too (1 pass, 6 merits and a distinction; very happy teacher (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ). It's awful some of you have had to wait for so long for your results...hope they come soon. |

We are still waiting with you. No results again today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Think I want the money back!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) What makes it worse is the entries were placed online and they aren't even there for viewing. We can't blame the post..... As far as I know there hasn't been any mention of a problem or a complaint made. |

Any results yet? You seem to have been waiting for an unbelievably long time! Sorry - forgot to post! Got my daughters results in the post on Friday. She got a Distinction for Grade 5 Euphonium scoring 29,28 and 29 for her pieces. Then, and this is the section I registered my complaint about as the questions were not asked/replayed as per the syallbus, 12 for her aural and then 17 and 17 for sight reading and scales (she had wanted to do scales and sight-reading before her Euphonium went "cold" so directly after the pieces but the steward was new and did not give us any "slips" to write the order on. A small blip in the grand scheme of things but given she is very inexeperienced and only 10 and the aural test had already been asked in an incorrrect manner, enough to unsettle her.) Despite all that, the result is excellent and fully deserved. Hopefully, by registering with the AB the difficulties we encountered on that particular will ensure that no-one else has the same experience. AB can't get it right all the time, and its easy I guess to forget the "positive" results we have all received when we weren't expecting them. If my future students exam experience at the centre which we used are more likely NOT to be like the one that my daughter went through then it was right to complain. I should also point out that the delay in the results was because the AB could not get hold of the examiner to discuss the exam. However, they never once contacted me to let me know how things were progressing and in the end I had phoned 4 times to chase the results up. The letter I finally received with the exam results was very apologetic though, and they did seem to have done all they could to investigate, but the communication regards complaints is definitely "a work in progress! If I were writing their exam report I would add a "don't neglect the supporting tests!" comment! |

Finally got daughter's results on Monday. They took nearly 5 weeks, there were no coplaints about the practicals to my knowledge. The issues I raised about the experiences surrounding Practical Musicianship, which had no bearing on the Practicals as they were at different centres, received a similar response to Kixmusic. Must say it leaves me wondering who is in control the AB or the examiners. They had tried to contact our examiner but hadn't been able to, think it would be a major coincidence if it was the same one. |

Euphonium is her second study instrument and she doesn't have lessons as such (I teach her, but I seem to keep forgetting to!!) so its purely down to her hard work. It was because I was sure that she was a strong candidate that I did complain, i wasn't looking for a resit or any additional marks or suchlike but just didn't want one of my students to go through the same experience that she had. As it is, most of my students are currently leaning towards the Trinity Guildhall exams as they prefer the syllabus. My daughter is aiming to take her G7 trombone this term so we will see how the boards compare again I supose! |

I was pretty mad with her Oboe Teacher as I thought he had let her down. Out of the two exams it was the only one that we could really judge. I've spoken to her Recorder Teacher tonight and it's AB examiner strikes again. I don't want to say too much as it's not my decision to make over what happens next. I was totally shocked to find out my daughter had the highest mark for Oboe(merit) and the next to highest for Recorder(pass) out of two full days of exams. Can't say too much more at this stage as it's the Music Services fight. |

Wonder if that's what the AB have done though. Perhaps it was another examiner they have been unable to contact!!! Must admit I smiled at the comment sheets as on several occassions the examiner wrote one note was late, didn't say shich one. Just wonder how he knew when he didn't have the music infront of him. At the end of one of the Recorder pieces my daughter coughed, the pianist came down laughing say how well she'd done to keep the note going. The examiner made a harsh comment about the note not sounding correct at the start but this was resolved whilst the note was being held. She lost makes on aural 4 (edited as I got confused on the two marksheets) of them for clapping a crotchet wrong. Just glad I didn't blast the Oboe Teacher earlier in the week. |
