Anyone remember that old game where you have to join dots to make squares, then put your initials in?

Does anyone think they can conjure a good way of dots, uppy-downy lines and lefty-righty lines?

how about having:
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

etc. as the board where the dots are positioned between the 0s on every other row so that to make a square you must make a sort of diamond of 1s e.g.

0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0
0 0 1S1 0 0 0 0 0
0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0

with my initial 'S' in the place of the spaces

note that the top and bottom 1s must be on one of the lines with dots in which can be easily seen by the fact that they are slightly longer.

for the truly adventurous, the rows could not be staggered e.g.
0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 0 1S1 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0

that wouldn't be a valid square, especially as the B is placed in the place where a horizontal line should go.

the correct board would look like:

0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 1S1 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

and a valid square would be 3 1s in a vertical line with another 1 opposite the central 1, also the central 1 would have to be on one of the longer lines or in real life, the square would look like:

I agree... how about an image that can be taken off and edited using a drawing program?? Would make it alot simpler but it depends how clever people are feeling. Actually that would mean they'd all have to be uploaded and hosted somewhere. Which would be a pain. So maybe not after all (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
