I've just received the news that Wynford Evans, the inspirational singing teacher with whom I studied for 6 years, has died.

He was not only a great musician, an inspirational teacher and a terrible golfer, he was also a caring and loving individual who changed a lot of people's lives. Without him I'd still be an accountant and weekend warbler.

RIP Wyn, and thanks for everything.

Very sad news. In my very first week at the Guildhall (all those years ago..), he gave the opening Friday lunch time recital. I think he'd won the Gold Medal the previous summer or something. I can still remember it - first time I'd heard The Foggy Foggy Dew, which I thought was rather risqué at the time.

Commiserations, katyjay.

So sorry to hear about Wynford, Katyjay. You were very fortunate to have benefitted from his skills and he will be a great loss to our local area.
