I've just received the news that Wynford Evans, the inspirational singing teacher with whom I studied for 6 years, has died.
He was not only a great musician, an inspirational teacher and a terrible golfer, he was also a caring and loving individual who changed a lot of people's lives. Without him I'd still be an accountant and weekend warbler. RIP Wyn, and thanks for everything. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) |

Very sad news. In my very first week at the Guildhall (all those years ago..), he gave the opening Friday lunch time recital. I think he'd won the Gold Medal the previous summer or something. I can still remember it - first time I'd heard The Foggy Foggy Dew, which I thought was rather risqué at the time.
Commiserations, katyjay. |

So sorry to hear about Wynford, Katyjay. You were very fortunate to have benefitted from his skills and he will be a great loss to our local area.
