Good luck for tomorrow to:

eldatom, G4 piano, 12.44

and oldnotes, G7 piano

I think I just about survived mine yesterday! Scales, sightreading and aural seemed ok. There were mistakes in all my pieces though. Nothing too major I hope, but I did re-start a piece. Everything was going fine until I made a mistake in my first piece, I sort of slipped on a chord and made the most horrendous noise, but carried on. I also hit the wrong note in my left hand at the same time!! It did knock my confidence (not that I had much to begin with) and my hands were actually shaking through the next two pieces.

Still, on the whole it was not too bad for a first exam, just got my fingers crossed now that the examiner didn't think I was a complete disaster!

Well done Jazz chicken I am sure that you have done better than what you think by the sounds of it.

Thanks for the luck, I am feeling really nervous now, I wanted a stress free weekend but that just hasn't happened. Hopefully for the rest of the day I will get time just to chill out. This is my first practical exam too so I just don't know what to expect.

Good Luck Oldnotes, hopefully I will be celebrating by the time you have yours.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Good luck to both of you!

It actually sounds as though you've done well, Jazz Chicken. Fingers crossed! I had the mistakes and shaking hands thing in my last exam, but my scales were far worse, and I actually had to start a section in one of my pieces twice. I thought I'd failed, but ended up with a merit, so let's hope you're headed for a distinction!

I wonder how long I will have to wait to see if I have passed? The suspense is killing me - almost worse than waiting to go in. N

Thanks Skylark

I am trying very hard not to be nervous, I have written myself a list so that I don't forget what I have to take

1. Both letters as my exam date was changed.

2. Applicant card with number

3. Glasses (most important without them I wont be able to play anything as I can't see!)

4. Shoes (got some lovely high shoes for the pedal work - definitely can't feel the pedal in my boots!)

5. And the music of course!

Can't get it ready yet as I want at least a couple more practises.

Should be having lunch by the time its your exam Oldnotes, I am very lucky to have a lovely friend taking me to the exam and then we will go for lunch.

Good Luck to your son Chris H with both his saxophone and clarinet.

Good luck to everyone with exams today. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm this morning (well, closer to lunchtime) and have a big mouth ulcer in the worst possible place for flute playing AND a cold. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sick.gif) Don't think either of these bode well for the exam... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
