If you are withing reach of Reading, Berks, you may like to go along to the Concert Hall this Saturday June 2 for an organ recital by young German organist Wolfgang Abendroth. The Concert Hall has a Father Willis organ, restored a few years back to its original state (and pitch - a sore point with orchestras that would have liked to perform with it!). Music by Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Brahms, César Franck. The recital is part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Reading/Düsseldorf link.

Wow. He's playing the E flat and the Great G minor! Unfortunately, I won't be able to come but I wish I could! The programme looks fantastic!
