(IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Please can any teacher help I am studying grade 7 2011 exam paper they ask you to transpose clarinet in B (bars 4 - 6) to concert pitch. Page 22/23 question 5c ii I have done Bb but B does not seem right is it down a Minor 2nd ?
The answer book gives it as a Major 2nd . I am confused. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) |

Sounds like a mistyping on the paper. As far as I'm aware (and I'm not a clarinettist) there is no such thing as a clarinet in B. As the model answer has done it for a Bb clarinet then that's probably right, so your answer will be right too.

Unless the instruments on the score have their German names in which case it's not a misprint.

I'm guessing it's German - they say B when they mean Bb (and H when they mean B)
