I have loads of music stored on my PC (which i play using Windows media player) - is there a quick and easy way to transfer them onto a laptop (which also has WMP)?

I am a bit of a computer gimp so I dont know these things!

Any help would be much appreciated1

Do you have a memory stick? You could save them to memory stick and then put them on that way.

Dont hold me to that... its just a suggestion, someone else will probably have a better idea.

Hope this helps.

If you have a large size (memory not actual physical size (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) USB pen drive then you can use that, you can get a 2GB one for less that £20 now. There is away of doing it by connecting the laptop and PC via their parallel printer ports but that's a little more complicated (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Thinking about it you can get a USB data link cable like the one in the link below

http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/8199/

I'll try and find one from a UK shop for you...

Found it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You need to choose where you want to save them, once they are opened I think (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

if you have the internet on both, why don't you attatch it to an email and send it to yourself. That way you can access it on any computer through your email account and then save it on your laptop.

Not got internet access on it yet. OK now its playing them........Im just worried that once I remove the stick, the songs will be gone from the PC. Maybe I should just keep fiddling about and save all the files somewhere?
Sorry for being a computer gimp!

When you have it on your laptop opened, it should allow you to choose to save it elsewhere, and that is what you need to do.

Sorry if that is completely useless information.

I have just had a look using my memory stick, and I came up with these ideas:

Right click and send to where you want it to go.

Or copy and paste it into the place you want it.

Hope this helps.

When you instert your memory stick into the USB drive go to "My Computer" there you should see a new drive appear this will be titled something like "Removable Drive" or often the make of the Memory stick...double click on this. Then you should be able to see the files that you copied to your memory stick...from here select them all and drag and drop them from the memory stick folder into another folder on your desktop....delete the files on the memory stick and then repeat the proccess (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

If you need any more help then feel free to PM me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

This could take quite a long time to do, as you have to attach each individual track etc...and also alot of e-mail services have a limit on how much data can be sent (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
