Thanks very much to all of you! She said she was going to keep quiet about it (in case she didn't like it), but two of my sisters rang this evening and she told both of them! She's keener (I hope!) than she likes to let on. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Fantastic! I have to take my hat off to your mum; I have never met someone of her age with such a zest for life, wit and fantastic character.

At the end of the day that's something else to keep her mind active and busy no matter what she achieves. Good on her! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hope MamaDaisy continues to enjoy her lessons. Tell her that all the finger exercise will keep her hands supple for her knitting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I have to say that Daisy Chain is one of the kindest and most patient people I have met, so I can see it working. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I think this is fantastic. What a great example of "you're never too old". Brilliant.

Just a word of warning - I tried to teach piano to my husband. He was the naughtiest pupil I ever had to deal with. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) Completely immune to even my sternest look.

*wonders if it possible for any husband to cultivate this kind of immunity?* (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
