can you only get E strings that have a loop end or can all strings have a loop end?
i feel so silly asking that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) but i have a loop end fine tuner on my e string and i'm intending on putting a fine tuner on my a string also. until now i've always had ball end fine tuners so it's new to me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) |

All strings come in either loop end or ball end!
It's not a silly question - the world of violin strings is an absolute maze compared to strings for guitar (or mandolin, yay!). |

Yay that's great (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) As i liked my loop end fine tuner but wasn't loving the idea of one ball end fine tuner and one loop end (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I'll buy another for my A string then (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) . Sorry to put you wrong, and thanks for the correction, Discopants.
It's the middle of the night here, and I'm hopped up on painkillers (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) but I should have checked sorry. |

oh no (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) no problemo though. i wonder if it'll look silly with 1 loop end and one ball end. but... i like my loop end tuner (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) !

Why not just do away with the A string fine tuner?

i've gone from having 4 fine tuners to having 1, and i'm missing their usefulness (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) though to be fair i should probably learn to get along with the pegs!

I have yet to put the A tuner on, i just have one on the E and was gonna put one on the A =/ My violin generally stays well in tune but i haaate tuning with the pegs if i have a concert - they're guaranteed to slip or something and i'll end up spending a million years trying to get it back in tune. Though i don't have slippy pegs, so maybe that's just me being paranoid (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)
I'll shutup now and keep my E fine tuner (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |
