Just came back from a presentation where slides of a website I designed where being shown. Only thing wrong was that they got my name wrong and used a colleague's name by mistake! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
Now you would think when people came to shake his hand at the end of the presentation he would have said something!! but NO...he just smiled and thanked everyone!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

I couldn't believe it!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) At the end of the day, I still get paid the same at the end of the month so it doesn't matter, but still I couldn't believe the cheek of my colleague!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

hmmm...yes...it was all rather strange. I went to speak to my colleague afterwards and asked him why he was happy to take the credit for my work and he just looked at me, smiled and said nothing!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)
I also spoke to the director who made the presentation who didn't seem surprised I had created the site but quicky changed the topic of conversation! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)
I cannot understand why they would do this on purpose but then they must have their reason... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

It sounds to me like a fairly typical back-stabbing tactic in some people's strategies for promotion...

I would ask myself the question... if it was the other way round, and my name had been put on my colleague's work, how would he react and what (if anything) would he do about it.

Personally I would write an email asking for the name to be changed (the presentation might be used on other occasions and the error perpetuated ad infinitum). I would certainly want the record put straight, and before memories fade and he starts claiming it was his work after all. Unless the record is put straight, he may well take credit for it on other occasions, eg at an appraisal, which leaves you open to the charge "well why didn't you say something at the time"?

Sorry, I know you didn't ask for this input, but this sort of thing makes me very cross!!!

There's a lot happening police-wise in your area right now, isn't there? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I swam 2km (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I wonder why swimming is so much harder than other exercise? I can easily cycle 15-20km but was really tired after the swim.

Well done you! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I think it's something to do with how swimming uses nearly every muscle in your body, or something-it's definitely very tiring!

I am sick of police sirens.

When I first moved to my current house, I wondered why sirens were that much more prevalent. Then I realised that I was a stone's throw from both the General Hospital and the Fire Station!

They don't tend to register with me now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
