I don't do ABRSM (haha, what am I doing here? :P). ABRSM isn't as well known down here in Australia. My exams are run by the AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board), and I am doing my AMusA, also called Associate, or the first diploma level. :)

I've just done grade 4 (made an appalling mess of it...too nervous...but that's another story...)

I played:

Scarlatti - Minuetto
Karganov - Arabesque
Bartok - Melody in the Mist

Good luck with your exam!!

I'm sure that you'l be fine, glad to hear you made it through the exam :).

Regarding the question in the thread I'm never quite sure what to say as everyone says they're grade 5 the day they've passed grade 4: so if that's the case I'm grade 5; otherwise I'm grade 4. In simpler terms I'm soon going to start working on the pieces for grade 5 to hopefully take it in November.

I've just started my Grade 6 (grade 5 with 134/150 in June). I started in the winter of Year 7, so I've been learning the piano for 3.5 years. Is that good?

Also, I'm planning on taking the Grade 6 exam either this coming November or the Easter session... at the pace I'm going, around what grade do you think I can get to before I leave school? (Leave school, I mean at 18, after upper sixth.)
