Oh, it gets better.

The logo will change colour depending on what programme is being shown. And the '1' is being dropped from 'ITV1', because that's diluting the ITV brand. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Bring back LWT I say....and THAMES!!!! And let us not forget Diddy David Hamilton in his armchair.....or the Beeb's wonderful Christmas skaters/carol singers etc.etc.

Sorry, I digress.

ITV have paid someone a VAST amount of money to come up with something that looks like a Venn diagram done in their Best Joined Up..........

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) , although (with the exception of BBC Three (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ill.gif) ), the BBC's presentation is so much better than ITV's...

I'd settle for TVS: For the best view of the South (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) http://youtu.be/JlhD9NKQla4?t=4s

As for the new ITV ident (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ill.gif)

If you want to reminisce, Bag (and others) about old BBC Christmas idents, here's an excellent YouTube video about them : click. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

(It's the 1978 BBC1 ident (the first I remember) that unsettles me rather (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) )

I read it as utv (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Which may be a problem for the real UTV in Northern Ireland (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Or Gambit, with Fred Dineage (sp?) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Just nobody post the Yorkshire Television ident from the 70s/early 80s. That was scary (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)
