QUOTE(pianocelloflute @ Apr 17 2012, 12:26 PM) *

Thank you everybody. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well, tomorrow is the day of the ATCL. I have just done my final run-through, which went ok. Apart from accompanying Haydn's Creation in rehearsals this evening, I'm not going to touch another piano until I get to Trinity!

About to pack my bag, so I can then triple check it over the coming hours. I fear the word count for my essay on performance practices of the twentieth century may not improve much today! (though I am at the "any excuse not to do it" stage) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Well, you know what the piano is like at Trinity! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Best of luck, hope all is most fab (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Apart from accompanying Haydn's Creation in rehearsals this evening...

pcf, pcf, unless there's something you're not telling me, you aren't Valhalla Choral Society's accompanist. Or, do you perhaps mean that there's more than one Creation rehearsal happening tonight? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Frivolities aside, huge congratulations on the stonking DipLCM result, and all the absolute very best for tomorrow's ATCL (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well, it is done. Room was echo-y and there was lots of background noise, but I played as well as I had hoped to do.
Having my page turner sitting between me and the examiner was an interesting addition to the quirks of the day - but there was definitely Not Enough Room the other side!

Overall, whilst at times I wondered what on earth I was doing deciding to do two diplomas within a month of each other, I'm very pleased with how things have gone. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

And now approximately 6 weeks waiting for results! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fingersCrossed.gif) Which shall almost take me to the end of my other music diploma (the academic one...) [Moi? Workaholic?! Non...]

Was it the same room as I did my ATCL in, pcf? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well, you have worked your socks off pcf. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) All the best for a successful result. 6 weeks seems about right if mine was anything to go by : it may be quicker. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Just want to publicly say well done to pcf - I thoroughly enjoyed her performance this morning even if I felt like the most conspicuous page turner ever!

Fingers crossed you get the result you deserve.

If pcf's diploma result comes through in the same amount of time as mine, it'll be next week... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

The post bought a Trinity envelope today...

A fail, with very few positive comments throughout. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

A blow, I admit. I'm not retaking it - it would be have to be a December exam and I start an MSc in September, I would rather use the 200-odd-pounds for living costs and I think I'd probably suit another college/exam board more if I were to try another diploma at this level.

Since the recital a month ago, I've delved into pieces which in theory are "harder" but are far more me and that's how I plan to continue. After all, I am a mathematician first and foremost with music being my light relief!!

Academic music diploma final exam is 3 weeks today and then my musical year of studies is over.

Ah well!
