Just curious - which are the popular pieces for G6 and G7 saxophone? I'm about to take it, intending to play Vaughan Williams, Westbrook and Bullard or Rae - but it made me wonder what others choose...

Apologies for cross-posting - I have asked this question on other boards as well - but I thought you guys might know!

best
Nick

Grade 6 - I certainly would favour the Vaughan Williams, also the 2nd movement of the Lawson Lunde - but it is a long blow - but gorgeous! Study - Toreador Sax is fun, has lots of character. Sax Fax has some tricky rhythms so take care with that. Also at grade 6 the Paule Maurice the Bohemian is nice.

Grade 7 - study - Sax Comique is great fun - very whacky! In fact, that book, 60 for sax is a brilliant buy as it goes right up to gr 8 - the Scherzando Sax for gr 8 is nice too, and not too long! Also at gr 7, the Bozza Aria is terrific and the Vinci Adagio and Allegro are nice. Look also at the Light of Sothis by Amy Quate.
