I've possibly got a new school for teaching- the man in the music shop recommended me- YAY! YAY!!! I got the job even though I had a slight headache from cider and hot tub last night! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hurrah.gif) Well done! What will make me happy is listening to the first programme in a new series of In Our Time with Melvyn Bragg, later this morning at 9.00 am on Radio 4. Why? .... because the topic discussed will be IMAGINARY NUMBERS ! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yay.gif) Not "a real treat" then! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Hope you enjoyed it. |

I did, although I didn't much learn anything new to me, apart from the connection with primes of the form (4n+1). Still, I always tune in to In Our Time, whatever the topic - it gives the brain a good workout! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

The realisation that the term has got off to a pretty good start.
Oh, and one of my mums, who brought a lovely tin of chocolate biscuits to say 'thank-you' for changing her son's lesson day. How kind! |

Seeing my young grandson now taking his first steps walking - he will be one next month (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .
I posted a while back that he liked playing my piano, and now he can reach up to the keyboard if I have left the lid open and start playing. He loves it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

The trouble with imaginary numbers is that they are so selfish - it is just "i, i, i " all the time! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rofl.gif) What's made me happy? Going to a lovely concert in our town church. The winner of our local "Older musician of the year" played Beethoven's 2nd piano concerto (which was apparently really his first, but given the number 2 because published later than no.1) and he was tremendous! Fantastically fast, smooth runs, and NO mistakes that I noticed. I would so love to be able to play like that as an amateur! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) |
