Naturally conversations get diverted, it's normal. My "tech speak" knowledge is just sadly lacking , despite everybody trying to drag me into the 21st century (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) So's mine : I wouldn't worry! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I had a Commodore 64 in the early-mid 80s. The best program I could write on said machine was as follows : 10 PRINT"BARRY" 20 GOTO 10 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I used to run Lynx on my Solaris box at home... SSH session from work to home meant I could browse the net from a terminal and look like I was working (this was obviously in the quiet periods!). Oh, and there was always X11 tunneling over SSH if I wanted to open a proper browser on the sly which wouldn't be subject to the policies of the proxy! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Hrm, memories of running eggdrops and trialling a MUD server on my 'nix box... *sigh* I actually understood all that... *runs and hides* Me too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) Lynx is pretty cool actually. I've only ever used it during a Gentoo installation though. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Actually I did get rid of a virus all by myself once, and I was very proud of getting my computer running again without any help. It took 6 hours of hard work... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) However, just two days later, the computer broke terminally from a completely different problem... |

I have a 7-bit computer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rofl.gif) - in that case mine has 65 bits because I dropped it last year and a piece broke off. I stuck it back with black electrical tape. |

Does that make my laptop a 1-bit computer, and my netbook a little-bit computer?
