Feeling travel sick, as in sick of travelling, and sick of airline food, (although the offerings in the BA lounge at LHR are nice enough).

Currently waiting for my sixth flight so far this week (since 06.15 on Sunday morning). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

By my reckoning I have spent at least 25 hours in the air since Sunday, and I cannot wait to get home.

What day is it? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Don't ask me what day it is! Heaven knows - the problem is they keep changing it!

Yes, but they get longer or shorter depending on which way you are travelling. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Doesn't it eventually all equal out?

Err, yes it does, but right now it doesn't feel like it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

1. Healthy ways to lose weight do exist.
2. Health and strength are better goals than thinness.

Maybe if I say it enough I'll actually believe it...

Yes, they do. Slimmingworld.com is one of them, and is working for me just now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

What a week - son playing up big time at home, then in one day Dad diagnosed with COPD and having to cancel his holiday - should have flown to UK today to see family, daughter diagnosed with Exercise Induced Asthma - likely due to the atmosphere in the swimming pool as there is no ducting (fell down over a year ago) and they are building offices so they have taken more of the circulation volume away, and then the poor girl - on the same day - was told that she couldn't take both PE and Music as her options as they clash. So she is no longer doing music, despite having restarted her singing lessons for it and really looking forward to it.

And then son continues to play up.

It can only get better from here....

Not a proper "aagh" but it is annoying.

Some months ago in a garden centre I bought a "bristol red" Wegelia to replace one that I had had for years and which had died. I liked the splash of bright colour that it added in my garden at this time of year and deliberately chose to replace it with exactly the same thing. The first flowers have just opened on the new one and instead of being red they are white (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

That's disappointing - a similar thing happened to me a few years ago with some Oriental poppies - I wanted anything but bright red, and ordered some salmon and a striking black and white one. What arrived? bright red.

To be fair the nursery sent a couple of replacements - but they didn't survive long enough for me to find out what colour they were.

I have some Bristol ruby weigela and if only you were a bit nearer I'd be happy to send you one.

We have a Cammelias in a pot with several buds. That will add colour. We aslo have a load of pansies/violas out (blue and yellow ones)

We've got the French version of that - add in a few poppies, outsize thistles and waist high grass - and the whole aaaaaaggghing lot is soaking wet so I can't get out to chop it down. At the first burst of sun I am going out with the brush cutter to mow the lot into oblivion (well compost probably).

We could rebrand our overgrown arghhh gardens as nature reserves, and set a new trend (like the distressed jeans!) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Maybe invent an endangered species of butterfly/ toad /bird which makes our garden a site of special scientific interest. Items such as rain gauges, binoculars, pond dipping nets and other ecological stuff will all add to the effect!

The middle of our lawn is basically a bare brown patch. I've explained to the neighbours that I'm re-enacting WW1, and will be digging trenches, putting up barbed wire and inviting them all round for a guided tour of the battlefield!
