Maundy Thursday service. Choir sang Allegri's Miserere during the stripping of the altar. I conducted, and Mrs Stetenorve hit the top Cs in Choir 2. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

I've found a string teacher who is organising tutored string quartets. Just heard back that they've possibly got something sorted out for me and I have a date now for my first session in a few weeks time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jumpin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yay.gif)

Looking at a very funny website. You know the current craze amongst posh blokes of wearing bright red trousers? (generally along with tweed jacket, brogues etc) - there's a website just with loads of photos of them proudly doing that. I know that doesn't sound funny, but it is... I can't type the exact name of the website as it has a naughty word (no naughty content though, I promise) but if you google 'look at my red trousers' you will find it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hmmm - I wear tweed and brogues - not all the time! However, I draw the line at red chinos. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You've no idea... Living in a rural area, tweed is de rigueur. However, in the chamber choir the secretary, librarian, and I have concluded that a certain personality type seems to go with the red chinos as we've encountered a couple of "characters" in recent years. One is a bass (thank fully moved on now) who thought he was God's gift to womankind, the other is a conductor (not ours) who is a retired surgeon and thinks that everyone is his flunky (think James Robertson Justice as Sir Lancelot Spratt).

Apologies to anyone who wears them and does not fit this stereotype (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I definitely will not be buying the red chinos. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I do hope this description doesn't apply to those of us who live out in the sticks, and sometimes choose to wear red corduroys? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well, I live in the sticks so I tick at least 2 of the 3 boxes. I am sure that you are the epitome of sublime gentility and therefore not part of the stereotype being described (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Maybe these 'posh' blokes are trying to set themselves apart from those who would rather be seen wearing shell suits, or jeans at half mast? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
