On Monday I went past the Headquarters (I assume - a large factory type building by the motorway, with a massive sign saying 'Eddie Stobart').
Today returning home I saw at least 5, but all going in the opposite direction so I couldn't see the names.

Their HQ is near Carlisle, but they have a few more depots around the country. Theres one right by the M56 in Cheshire for example (J10-11). They also own Southend Airport

Ah we were on the M56 so it must have been a depot then.

Did you know that there is an Eddie Stobbart Spotter's Club?! We signed my son up when he was about 6 and they send you a log book for entering all the names of the cabs you spot, together with date and place spotted etc together with things like a calendar and untold goodies! We spent many years with our log book and pencil at the ready in the car as we journeyed around the country. Once you've started spotting its hard to stop even when children have outgrown their interest!

Yes it been going for years, but although I started this thread, I really couldnt bring myself to join it !The recent TV series on 'Eddie' amazed as to how diverse they have got, with special horse transport, and also a special vehicle for Formula 1 teams. Then theres Southend airport they own and use for air freight.
The club organises trip to depots and things like that. When they purchased 50 or so new lorries a while back , members were invited to see them before they were rolled out, it showed them painting the names on them. You can pay a fee and get on a waiting list for you or your beloveds name to go on one .

WILMA JANE
SUSAN MARGARET
DAISY ANNA

All on A14/M6 yesterday.
The last one is interesting to us, because Anna is our baby granddaughter. About a month after she was born, my sons best mate, and his wife had baby Daisy. So no doubt Anna and Daisty will become mates soon.

I have never yet been able to read any of the names on these lorries - they are either travelling fast in the opposite direction or I'm overtaking them...
