I would like to record stuff off my computer, such as internet programs and music. Is there a way to do this, and what software would I need to do so? Thanks in advance!!!

Hi L2S, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
I use a brilliant program called wire tap. It's from Ambrosia Software. Basically, whatever is playing through your computer at the time (from internet, or CD, or anything), if you press record, it will record it!
...and what's more it is free!!!!

I'll try and find the webstie for you.

Wavelab (Steinberg) or Soundforge (Sony) will also do this.

Audacity is also good for this, and it's free! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Jamie managed to somehow pull it off, but you'd live longer if you asked someone who wasn't him.

if you go to volume control (accessories/entertainment) and then go to properties in the file menu and choose recording, you can click the select button on 'wave out mix' or 'stereo mix' and it will set the computer to record everything that comes out of your speaker. Then on audacity you just click the record button and it will record it. Other sound recorders work too.

Just a reminder, folks, that most music played over the Internet is copyright, and that recording it is illegal. Please make sure that the music you want to record can be copied legally.

Thanks, Katyjay! I'm gonna give it a try, and I'll definitely keep the copyright thing in mind.
