Sorry to disagree but I think that you would need at least two days longer and one hand and one foot to do all of this properly.
I learnt to play the violin last week, on thursday and I can play the string parts of all of his symphonies now. I am going to learn the unnacompanied Bach partitas next monday.

I learned the entire Beethoven sonatas in a fortnight

well I suppose that's alright... I can play all of his symphonys on the piano by pressing notes so quickly and in different rythms that they sound like different instruments. I learnt to do it in a week and only use one hand.

Ah but I was rather busy that fortnight - I had to learn all the Mozart and Haydn sonatas in the same space of time, together with the complete Beethoven and Mozart Piano Concertos.........

Never mind that, in the past two weeks, I invented a time machine, went back in time and wrote the Beethoven piano sonatas.

I end up getting accused of trolling when all I'm doing is expressing my opinion. I'm not deliberately trying to upset people, I'm just passionate about some matters.

You get accused of trolling when you start injecting into an unrelated thread sentiments which have already forced two other threads to be locked. Does that sound familiar, jod?

Something similar to that comment, then? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Now Mr B that was below the belt... trolling perhaps? I only injected that particular comment as interpersonal relationships between church staff can cause a nightmare for some organists. I had also had my husband berating church musicians and their attitude to clergy for the best part of a month. Now if that is trolling then I'm a troll, but I think you'll find I'm not.

I invented a curious device which convinces people that they went back in time and wrote beethoven sonatas

Hardly a troll when you've just perfectly illustrated exactly what I was saying! I rest my case!

No, it doesn't necessarily mean that.

Typically a troll is someone who comes to a forum with the clear intent of being disruptive. For example, there was a guy who came here a while ago who was constantly going on about how brilliant he was, how quickly he'd learned, and how comparitively rubbish we all consequently must be. It was clearly a wind up, and intended to disrupt the forum.

I don't think jod's comment or Mr B's on this thread quite count as trolling. While they might be engaging in a bit of mild point scoring, their intention is to contribute to this online community - that's what guides their posting. A bit of heated exchange isn't necessarily 'trolling'.
