Crawley have knocked out Derby in the FA Cup, winning 2-1 with a last minute goal from Sergio Torres. Derby created very little in that game and actually got to half-time without having a single shot on goal apart from an early saved penalty. Next up for Crawley is Torquay. An incentive there for both teams to get a big tie in the fifth round.

Tomorrow's edition of The Departing Managers seems to have come a couple of hours too early. Peterborough's Gary Johnson is the latest man to have left his club.

Didn't think i'd say this, but...
I hope that Clough joins the managerial merry go round. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) |

Looks like Darren Ferguson is returning to Posh.

Looks like Darren Ferguson is returning to Posh. It looks like Chris Powell will be Charlton's new manager. What do you say to that, Barry? Can we have a new manager now please? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Car Expert |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Car Expert I say potentially this is a good choice : he's a Charlton man, and he definitely has an affinity with the club (three spells as a player). I think he may well be successful, and I wish him well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

I've been thinking recently about how sensitive the owner-club-manager chemistry can be. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Ian Holloway has been doing amazingly well with Blackpool (who would have predicted that they'd be above the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Villa (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)) yet he was a bit of a disaster at Leicester. Roy Hodgson did very well at Fulham, but not at Liverpool. Pearson was good at Leicester but doesn't seem to be doing so well at Hull. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) A certain Scot was supposedly good at previous clubs such as Southampton and Celtic, but managed to take us close to ruin. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ill.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ill.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ill.gif)
Barry - I hope that the chemistry is right for Charlton. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

QUOTE 1600: There's some chat on Twitter (courtesy of BBC Radio 5 live regular Ian McGarry that Martin O'Neill will not be the new manager of West Ham, but that it'll be Martin Jol instead. Plots are thickening left, right and centre. West Ham v Arsenal still to come at 1730 GMT, forget ye not. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) |

A 3-0 win for Reading away at Donny! OK, it's not as emphatic as Boro, but at least we're still in touch with Watford for the play-offs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

2-2 wasn't really much use for either us or Sheffield Wednesday (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
But Chris Powell starts work tomorrow (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
