Does a layer of matt varnish over a later of gloss varnish result in a mostly matt finish?

For my sake.. I'm desperately hoping so (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

It should do. Might need a second coat of matt, though

Mole

Well it's come out kind of silky.. but there's still a fair bit of reflection... I'm an IDIOT - I should have used matt in the first place (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Eee, what have you been up to, Lottie? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Is this art, or a violin/viola or some combination of the two? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) It's for an oil painting!

As my husband said recently as I brandished a paintbrush.. "step away from the viola!" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/party1.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Why is it that comments of mine on a post that is so obviously a total wind-up have been taked seriously? I take it as a compliment to my writing skills, serious personality and helpful and considerate nature. At least you can get discount medication.
Yes, but I'm about to run out, so I'll have to go back in to the office! Now the cold has gone completely the other way, it's only my ears and throat that hurt now - head, arms, legs, etc all better - but now the proper external symptoms of coughing and sneezing have started. It's day 4 of this cold, I should be feeling better, not worse!

Maizie, day 4 of this particular cold was my worst. (Couldn't stop sneezing, coughing constantly...) *hugs* Hope you feel better soon. Mind you today I really *sound* as if I've got a cold, which isn't great!

Anyway... Do I look as if my name should be Ruth?

Probably about as much like I should be a Clare, which is generally the wrong name that gets used for me...

I get Claire too! My history teacher used to always call me Claire - now my little sister's in his class, and she gets called Lucy! Very unfair.

I was just thinking that it seems really busy on here tonight, and I just felt like sharing that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) but I couldn't think where to post it! So I've created a thread for any random thought or comment that doesn't necessarily lead to a conversation but you just want to say something (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I want to go to sleep.

I really can't be bothered to practise the clarinet. I actually haven't practised for the past two weeks - I've only played it in concert band.

Why does the week have to be so long and the weekend so short?!?
