Thank you to Vicky for organising, and to everyone for playing. I had such a good time. Sorry I was a bit out of it, I acquired a virus from somewhere (note to self, stop opening dodgy emails that say "make money fast").

Thank you all for an enjoyable afternoon - it was a very relaxed performance atmosphere. Many new (to me) faces, and great to see the evident progress of those whom I've known for longer. I hope the circulation to your extremities came back quickly in the meal afterwards (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif).

Oh that one's easy to fix - open the email which links you to a free virus scanner that totally isn't a keylogger. (You might need to apt-get install wine first, though.)

Try apt-add-repository ppa:oddbins - you might be able to find an older version of wine that is better than a 2012 release.

QUOTE(PianoNotes @ Sep 29 2012, 09:01 PM) *

It was a fab afternoon. It was lovely to meet Nicki Flute, and catch up with others. It was nice to chat to you, albeit briefly, mid-afternoon Seer_Green. It was a wonderful programme. Thanks to Vicky Violin and all concerned in the setting up of this event.

I was honoured that I was on your hit list of people to meet! (not sure hit list is quite the right word!) Brilliant to meet you too.

I know those who had accompanists really appreciated what it is to have their support and expertise also.... *cheers* (IMG:style_emoticons/default/woot.gif) .

Oddly enough, I know the acoustic felt a bit challenging for some during warmup - and yet we could hear everyone's playing really clearly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif).

Yes - I definitely appreciate having good accompanists.

It was much better for the concert, I think because the lid was open. But I agree, it was lovely to listen to things in.

You didn't seem out of it to me. Lovely to meet you too!

I don't think my circulation ever reaches normal levels, *ice cube*

Thanks Vicky for organising.

Thanks Vicky for organising a great event! ...and well done to everyone who performed! The overall standard of performance was extremely high and for me there were some really fantastic moments - particularly enjoyed Katyjay & Seer Green (very atmospheric) and TSax. Both recorder pieces were wonderful and all the piano solos! I was a little disappointed with my clarinet piece but I wasn't feeling great - it was still good experience! Impressionist and my cello duet was entertaining - as we thought it might be! Already looking forward to the next opportunity to play and listen.

I thought I'd just resurrect this thread to say I'd had a lovely e-mail (yes...89 year olds do e-mail too!) from Rosemary to say what a lovely afternoon she had at the concert. She has asked me to pass on her thanks to you all for making her feel so welcome (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
