I am sure the answer is on here but I can't see it...

Is Jolly Music - the first book - aimed at preschool and book 1 for infants?

The first book (Beginnners Level) is intended for use with children from age 4, i.e. Reception.
The second book (Level 1) is aimed at 5+, Year 1
The third book (Level 2) is aimed at 6+, Year 2.

However, you can start with older children and work through the books in order. You could start Beginners as late as age 7 (Year 2).

Hope this helps.

There is a 'Jolly Music' thread in the Teachers' Forum (entitled 'Big Plan #1'!).

I think you could use a fair bit of the 'Beginners' book even with young Y3s who haven't worked in this way before, too.

I am in the same position as you, Barry. I in fact will now need all the material. I have made some life changes which will now enable me to attend all the choir sessions. I don't know how much singing I will be doing next week though but shall enjoy listening to you all. I had better make sure I buy a folder from Cyrilla at the next meet.
