Patrick Moore has popped his clogs

I thought he was still with us. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

He once said that he checked the obits page every day, and if he wasn't there, he carried on as usual. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm sure I read on the BBC a while ago that he was no longer with us? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) I'll be happy if he still is! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

EDIT: Hrm lots of stories of ill health which might explain my confusion.

Perhaps he has gone then...although I know there have been a number of fake reports about his death. He is/was 86.

He gave an interview in June this year apparently.

I'll be happy too..I like him! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

EDIT: Yes, I believe he needed a pacemaker a while ago.

Looks like he's still about - no mention of anything untoward! I'd use barry's yay icon if it didn't grate on me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Definitely still with us, but no longer playing his xylophone due to arthritis/hand problems. So he might not be the best teacher out there! (Plus, you'll have to travel to him, he doesn't travel much any more. The Sky at Night is filmed at his house now).

Useful fact: Patrick Moore once played the piano to accompany Albert Einstein on violin. This was just at a gathering somewhere, not formal, and not anything that got recorded.

Wow! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Patrick Moore has always been close to the top of my list of people I'd most like to meet, but as he doesn't get around much anymore, I'm doubting that's likely now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I was going to phone/text you, to ask about that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I might need a hand shopping if I decide that's the way I want to go.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I'll see how I like the sound of Gemma's clari! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I'll give you a shout later in the week if that's ok, but any shopping won't be until around the 25th!

That's fine : See what you think of the clari first, and if positive, then we'll worry about getting hold of a clarinet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I've been listening to various stuff on youtube already (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I think I'll like what I hear (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I feel like I've been covertly subverted, somehow.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I still might get a smaller Xylophone to play with in a few months' time regardless...

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/clarinet.gif) Clarinet really is a cool choice of instrument Solari. Not that I'm biased or anything of course (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clarinet.gif)

I'm bugging him for info at the moment, only one reservation from the research I've done! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Ugh my face is still numb 3 hours after my dentist visit... she definitely made sure I wouldn't feel anything... for the next week and a half, by the looks of it!
