Just got back from the Grimethorpe Colliery Band concert at Richmond theatre - it was fantastic. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

DS LOVED it and in the interval told us that he'd played a brass instrument at the 'taster day' which our Trust ran at school last term and that he'd felt like he was free and floating when he'd played it. Today's concert reminded him what it was and afterwards he said that he still loves his Viola, but would like to take up Euphonium next!!! Quite a combination! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

On the way home, DS said that the concert had made his day, and that he was having a lovely weekend!!! Plus we have an inset day and trip to Legoland for us all tomorrow! He seems to have forgotten the mood he was in Friday evening or after getting back from the Tiffin tutor yesterday morning! Oh well, maybe his moods change as much as mine do!! That's good news! And a good idea about the euphonium I think - fun to play something loud and low (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

ViolaBoy tries out his new euphonium on the family's day out at Legoland.

Your DS2 certainly looks like a born drummer but I'm not sure what instrument you're playing, VM .... not too sure about your Indiana Jones hat either. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I think Violamum is about to play the bassoon, but she is waiting for MNW to show her how to put it together, so has left it in the case. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

It's a big xylophone thingy and she can't work out how to open the box (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

TDM - I love your photos - where on earth do you dig them up from?!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

After getting my old Clarinet out of the top of the wardrobe this summer and having another go at it, it looks like I've thrown it over my shoulder in disgust - sounds about right! I can't wait to see what comes out of that box!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Now I'm really disappointed as I was going to offer to rehome that contra-bass recorder (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)
