So, after years of idolising this piece and thinking it is way out of my league, my standard of playing has slowly crept up and I think I'm ready to start learning the third movement. I'm very excited but it feels a bit daunting as this piece has been one of those that I dreamed of learning 'one day'. Has anyone got any tips?
So far I've skipped the opening octave bit and just been practicing the L.H chords and drooling over the harmonies. I've tried singing the melody over the top as well. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear from you. I'll keep people updated on my progress (in case anyone's interested and to motivate myself as well!) x |

I don't know the piece itself but I am very experienced with working on pieces that are way out of my league (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Basically I just take a very very very long time to learn them - one took a year, and I have seven or eight things on the go now, most out of my league. I work on small chunks (I mean REALLY small - like 2 bars). I have currently had the Chopin Op. 53 Polonaise on the go for about a year, I've got about two pages into 16 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
