Hi,

Look at the Trinity Guildhall site - performance certificates and some of the diplomas can be taken as a jazz subject rather than classical - you have to allow a little more time for programme approval. My son did the performance certificate before Guildhall amalgamated with Trinity - a very good option after grade 8.

I've been thinking of doing one with London College:

Does TG still do the performers certificate? I can't find the syllabus on the site.

If you look on the site, the old GSMD performance certificate is now the ATCL recital diploma. This can be taken as a jazz subject.

But is that the same standard as the old Performers Certificate by Trinity. The one I am thinking about is the one that came after grade 8 and there was also an intermediate one that came after grade 5.

I never used the old Trinity exams (did use Guildhall) - this is definately post grade 8 level though.

They do still do it, though I'm not certain whether it's over the whole range of instruments they do exams for at the moment.
