I've used recently the Pre-historic Pianotime by Pauline Hall - for both girls and boys - it's some good tunes in it, a couple on the grade 1 syllabus for TG and LCM. Also the Superhero Piano Book from Faber Music which has things like Star Wars and Batman. These are for kids learning about 18 months.
I'm surprised at what the boys I teach actually like - they seem to be quite happy to try things from tinkly Mozart Minuets through to some quite atonal stuff like Mikrokosmos. |

Chariots of Fire theme tune, and He's a Pirate (from Pirates of the Carribean) you can get them on digital download easy piano from music room. My reluctant boys age 11-14 in the Grade 1 to 3 bracket, of which I have several, have loved these recently.

I'm having similar problems but looking for piano music for a beginner 9yr old football boy! Any suggestions - I've run out of options. Am really surprised with the Sad Song grade 3 piece person who liked it. But am glad they did! Am trying to work on that with two of my older pupils - both male. (50 and 70) It's interesting....[size=4]

I also like the Superman book and the Pink panther theme and Faber's Dinosaur stomp. But I also agree that boys like a strange range of things - I have two teenage lads whose favourite song has been Stephen Duro's Song of the Pine Tree in the Finger Joggin Boogie book - all very flowy, and singy. |
