(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) We really need to try and arrange for Katica and Roseau to be in the country at the same time so we can have a forum oboists get together! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I would love to do that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) So would I! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) BIG Forum Oboe Day!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) It's not impossible that I may go next year but I ought to save my pennies, as it's quite likely I won't have a proper job (partly by choice), may start a self-funded doctorate (in Costa Rica: can't afford the UK!) and need to hang on to savings to offset future lack of pension... Also, the cost of a trip back to the UK in the summer would go quite a way towards a future second-hand cor. Still, I know my parents will be disappointed and I have to say I find it really useful musically. It's great to be learning over here, and much cheaper in general, but in the UK I can engage with different experiences and learning/teaching styles, new repertoire, etc etc. So if I go I will inevitably fork out more of my savings for courses, or at the very least travelling to hook up with other Forumites (especially Forum oboists!) and events. I also hope one day to come across the famous Andrew (A.U.K). |
