Hi Lambrant,

I don't know many contemporary Russian composers, but Rachmaninov is one of my favourite EVER composers.

From the most known Russian composers of today I can name to you Maxim Fadeev who is engaged both tool ethnic music, and promotion of stars of the Russian singers. At Фадеев it is a lot of projects. The most successful was singer Linda who is known also in Europe, and soon is going to subdue America. To you the reference to Linda's official site, there is a variant on English language: http://www.linda.su/

Also Russian composer Igor Krutoj is very well-known. Besides he is engaged in own tool creativity, is the outstanding pianist, Igor Krutoj heads one of the largest musical records - companies " АRS ". Recently in the Latvian city of Jurmala has passed festival of young executors « New Wave » which headed Abrupt.

No, I'm afraid I've not come across any modern composers. Many of the young instrumentalists are very good though I'm told, though i've not had the pleasure of hearing any myself.
