Hi everyone,

We appreciate that exams and exam results are likely to be a popular topic at this time of year, as they are after every exam session.

However, the forums team have noticed that more and more frequently, examiners from ABRSM and other exam boards are now being named in discussion threads - on occasion, they may even be the subject of the discussion.

Whilst we've got no problem with the generic discussion of examiners, we'd ask you all please to refrain from naming individuals as part of these discussions. These forums are accessible to the public and read by a wide variety of people - including examiners. Please consider how you would feel if your character or daily work were being analysed or commented on in such a public fashion.

We welcome your feedback
ABRSM welcomes and encourages feedback that you may have on any aspect of our exams service - from making your application, to the exams centre, right through to receiving results. If you feel that you have any feedback that could help us to improve, you can send it directly to me (via email, Private Message or post) or address it to your local representative. What to do if you have a complaint
If you have a complaint or would like to make an appeal regarding your exam, ABRSM has a formal procedure in place to ensure that these are dealt with promptly, professionally and objectively. The same should be true of other exam boards. I would encourage you to use this method and not the forums to register complaints as it allows us to formally record and proactively deal with any problems that may have arisen.

Forum members are one thing, but if your are examiner no E123 (for example) you are tracable on the Boards Annual Report and things relect badly on you and the board.

As there is an official complaints procedure, surely it is better to use that.

As a forum member I can report insults I find particularly offensive to the moderators, however when I do post on here, particularly if I post something contraversial, I get what I deserve. I am asking for people to challenge my viewpoint.

It's a shame people don't always respect what's mentioned above with respect to forum members.

Forum members are able to respond, though. Examiners aren't. The other thing is that when forum members are criticised, the rest of us are able to see exactly what they are being criticised for, and we can arrive at our own informed conclusions. When people criticise specific examiners we have no idea how subjective the criticism is.

Sometime i feel scared when i do exams becasue ithey may loose marks when you dont know then yo make mistakes and it all goes terribly wrong but when i did my first exam i though just relax and it turned out i got a high merit!! YAY!!! anyway cya

Probably better not, but you could check with a moderator if you really want to.
