My wee student's mother has, in the past, discussed a LAMDA verse and prose exam with me that I did as a child. I enjoyed this, and my wee student's mum wondered if I'd do something similar with her daughter. After looking at the exams, and the centres, we now seem to have a centre in Edinburgh, and so wee student's mum is keen for me to consider preparing her daughter for a solo drama exam. I'd like to do it as if it works, I can add it to the list of things I offer. I've already been considering the idea of coaching in public speaking with other LAMDA exams as an option.
The requirements are similar to LCM MT exams. Two recitations and a viva. The first passage should be taken from the LAMDA anthology, but the second is free choice. More info: http://www.lamda.org.uk/exams/uk/subjects/...ance.htm#acting Does anyone have any ideas where I could start looking for suitable plays/scripts? I've done a lot of drama over the years, but not really amassed a great deal of knowledge of repertoire. I'd like to familiarise myself with what's out there before we make definite plans to submit. Are there anthologies of monologues for children around? I'm at a bit of a loss. Candidate is female and would be aged 11/12 when taking the exam. Local knowledge/suggestions for Edinburgh are welcome as well as online/book suggestions. |

If you look on Amazon under drama, children or similar, a few suitable books come up.
