A few days ago I had the idea to try one of of the jazz piano exams in the future, just for fun and to try something different. I've borrowed the grade 1-5 books from the library but they seem to be several years old. Being a piano teacher I know that the piano syllabus changes every two years but how often does the jazz syllabus change or has it stayed exactly the same for ages?

It has never changed.

It has never changed.

There's no indication that it's going to change in the foreseeable future either.
