I might buy a ticket when I turn 16, just because I can!

I might buy a ticket when I turn 16, just because I can! Only £1! GEt addicted while you still can! My brothers friend bought one because he could. (There isn't actually a story to that...) I feel deprived! I can tell you he won if you like! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) |

You are nearly as likely to win if you just throw the pound coin over your shoulder.
Put your money in premium bonds instead ! If I won the lottery I'd buy a nice Chalet in the Italian Tirol and Ski through the winter. Its unlikely though as I haven't bought a ticket in 5 years. (BTW the first lottery draw was 1 week after we got married, we were on honeymoon at the time). |

yes.... that does reduce the mathematical chance of winning doesn't it? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) maybe that's why I don't have much luck. |

The odds of winning are about 14 million to 1; as my brother-in-law pointed out, you wouldn't bet on a horse with those odds! Agreed that money can't buy you happiness, but at least you can be miserable in comfort! I hardly ever buy lottery tickets - perhaps once or twice a year - but if on one of those occasions I just happened to win, I'd probably buy a grand piano, and a large house, big enough for said grand piano, in an area with a posh postcode (shallow? me? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)). Beyond that, my family would be mortgage-free, diverse charities would get some cash, which I think just about leaves enough left over to treat myself to a bottle of Veuve. |

For those old enough to play, there are a few free lotteries online. You just choose your numbers and then click on an advert. So you can have all the thrill of not-winning without spending a pound (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Some of them are parts of sites where they have other games that you do have to pay to play - I think they are meant to be a free game to lure you in. But if you ignore the pay-for bits, and the adverts for casinos, etc, then there really is nothing to lose. If you are the sort of person who won't ignore said adverts and invitations, then please DON'T look these places up. But who knows, maybe one day you might actually win something (I won £25 once (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) |

Theres a lot more chance of winning though the tickets are £20 per go, only enter once a year mind! Can't go giving money away so to speak i'm saving up for a Chimaera of my own. Italy is beautiful, nice choice! I've probably buy a small place in Italy too, though in Barletta (South of Italy). I forgot to add, i would buy a very nice pair of Clarinets, a gold flute, a nice violin and a grand piano. |
