I shall be playing for a wedding in about 3 weeks time and the bride to be has just asked me if I would play I.A.M.G. at some point during the service. Apparently her grandmother had it played at her wedding. As I don't possess a copy of said masterpiece I asked the forthcoming bride to be whether she would pay for the music. The subject was quickly dropped and, instead, she asked me to play 'Ave Maria' as an alternative. I decided not to go down the route of 'which one?'

As grandmother will be attending the wedding I thought I would try to get hold of a copy...a free copy...and play it beforehand. Does anybody know whether a free download is available? Organ arrangement preferably but piano would be fine.

I am so embarrassed about this................

Sadly you can't do this legally as Ketelby didn't die until 1959. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Unless Oldromola happens to live in one of those countries where it's lifetime + 50 years.

However, assuming he's in the UK, then quite right, have a look but don't print it out - go and buy it (and the family should really pay).
I can't believe that, in the big picture of a wedding, the odd tenner (at most, haven't looked) for a copy of the music is going to blow the whole budget.

Ahh well. You see you have to get your priorities right when staging a wedding. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You need to think about the fireworks display, and the aerobatic display aircraft hired to paint pink love hearts in the sky. Then there's the Rolls Royce for the Bride's mother, and the horse and carriage; all of which are far more important than the marriage ceremony itself. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I have a colleague who is getting married for the first time soon. He is 50. His bride-to-be is 20+ years younger and seems to have extremely expensive tastes when it comes to the wedding, which don't seem to be negotiable (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) She wants a Bentley as her wedding car - not any oold one, but a brand new convertable, which will cost GBP1,500 plus a GBP3,000 security deposit (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) She also wants a make-up artist throughout the day (for her 4 outfit changes) at a mere GBP600. Clearly I am in the wrong job (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)
