Sleep. I'm exhausted. Big day yesterday, New Tuff Skool this afternoon and musicianship group tonight - finished writing a Music Teacher article at half past midnight last night and couldn't do any more lesson plans and other paperwork after midnight tonight.

Not sure how long I can keep this pace up this term..

I don't know how you do it at all Cyrilla, I need my sleep and only rarely stay up later than 10pm. Do look after yourself, don't want you burning yourself out (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Already at work and about to open my counter and be nice to people (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well, you're not wrong, f#m - there certainly were a couple of bouncers in Year 6... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Thanks, Baz and Lou - must say I'm feeling stressed already - this is SUCH a big term coming up.

Hey ho.

No2son is in year 6. He's actually a sweet kid, that is until he gets a surge of testosterone and then he's a hormonally charged nightmare -it goes with the territory. The real problem is he finds it as disconcerting as the adults who deal with him. Now I know that, it is much easier to deal with him and all his male friends who are going through the same thing.

Listen first, act second. Ensure he's safe, admit when you're wrong.

This school sounds like hard work, and you've got far more experience than me Cyrilla. I don't want you to burn out either, however just knowing these kids are confused rather than malicious seems to help.

Good luck! Don't burn the candle at both end. Actually did I say burn... bad time of year to mention anything to do with flames. Safer not setting light to anything. Just be sensible. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Er, sorry, I'm the one who's confused here..have I said anything to make anyone think that the 'couple of bouncers' in Y6 were a) male b) malicious?

Errrr...and of course the children are safe...and how do you know any of these children are 'confused rather than malicious'? And, well, yes, I DO admit when I'm wrong but where have you got this from that I'm 'wrong' in this instance? And quite what do you mean by 'listen first, act second'? How do you know I don't listen to children? Or act without thinking??

And all this has come in response to me saying I'd taught for an afternoon in a new, Tuff Skool and that there were a 'couple of bouncers' in Y6... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Sorry, jod, I know you mean well but I find your comments here utterly baffling.

Sorry, probably just got the wrong end of the stick. I know you listen. Trust me for being a bit preachy.
