Yesteday I went on a guided tour of a local church that has just been restored. The guide started off by saying "unfortunately there are only two old frescoes remaining, the rest date from the 1600s". I love the fact that she considered the others to be "new"! My Dad the early music nut is visiting, and we have an evening of recorder duets planned. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Its the Wirral Music Festival tonight and tomorrow. I am looking forward to being a 'compere' , ie announcing classes etc this evening and especially tomorrow morning for the senior piano classes.
Im sure there will be some promising youngsters playing. Hopefully to emulate Stephen Hough who started here, and whose name is on many of the trophies. |

Surviving 2 days of AB exams....This batch of pupes gave me SUCH grief coming up to the exams that even Bag, Queen of Internalising, got a teensy bit rattled....but I think most of them played more or less as well as they can in the accompanied bits yesterday and today. I have promised two of my big boys a present if they pass their scales. Don't worry, my money's safe....!! Bless. Pity actually as I have a couple of lovely CDs in mind which I know they would both absolutely adore....ah well, chaps, c'est la vie (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Thanks, Tent Queen (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Will keep you posted although I have a nasty feeling results will be held back due to a bit of a mishap with one of the candidates....Have you ever seen a flautist and an organist trying to string a fiddle (there MUST be a joke there somewhere but we failed to see the funny side at the time)....or indeed seen the look on said organist's face when asked if she'd be willing to "busk" an accompaniment when a candidate turned up with no piano parts.....
