Can we have some positive vibes please for no 2 son? He is well prepared and very calm but you never know when the brain is suddenly going to go loopy! (still cringing at the time when my (grown-up, many many years of experience and qualifications under her belt) sister said, while accompanying the choral society I sang with, "Are you beating this in two or four?" to the conductor. It was in 3/2...)

Anyhow, 11.15 a kind thought for him would be welcomed! He is also going to say firmly that he wants to start with scales and he will play his pieces in order "List C, A, B"... that's his idea, by the way - he wants to end the exam with his favourite.

Good luck to him Dulcet, and glad the prom went well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I have a grade one singing pupil on Wednesday at 2.30 who also has lead role in school play this week, who completely forgot his words during rehearsal with accompanist on Friday, so I know where you are coming from. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

Pieces excellent, scales ditto, sightreading he felt he did very poorly on but he did make it clear that he knew when he'd made mistakes, and aural he is sure he got one question wrong. But overall he's happy and it was a good experience. The accompanist saw the bear he'd taken for reassurance and said the bear HAD to sit in with him (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) what a lovely lady!

Didn't see in time to send the positive vibes this morning, but glad it all seems to have gone well.

Very glad to hear he was happy with how things went.

Something a bit special about that first exam. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

He's a very calm and logical child who approached it knowing that he didn't have to worry... weird or what!!!

I think often children only get phased by exams if their parents transmit their worries to the child. Otherwise they just take it in their stride.
