Just taken delivery of new Yamaha U1SG - touch and go getting it upstairs with 90 degree turn(was on the verge attempting to send back to Chappells) but guys from G&R did a fantastic job, and it' now in place in upstairs music room looking good and ceiling hasn't collapsed! suprisingly nicely in tune considering manhandling it went through (checked with tuning fork).
Playing some pieces from "classics to Moderns" - it's been a long time since I played but even simple pieces sound good (to me least)- doesn't seen too loud - please with tone and action - will see tonight if duvet behind soundboard will be necessary.
Trying not to think how much I've spent - will have to decide how long to let it acclimatise before tuning and voicing

Wonderful, glad that you managed to get it up there in the end and not have to send it back.

Congratulations on your new arrival! Hopefully many hours (week, years) of enjoyment ahead.

Most tuners seem to say give it at least a month to six weeks to settle before tuning. You may find that it needs doing again quite soon afterwards, especially as the weather turns colder.

When I got mine, I was told to leave it as long as possible but more important make sure that I played it lots. Well I certainly did that and it was a year before I had it tuned. It is now coming up to a year since I had it tuned and my teacher said a few weeks ago, have you just had this tuned, I said no, I expect it is going to need doing and she said, no, its fine, and it has really bedded in nicely now.

Would love to post picture but having a bit of trouble working out how to, add image keeps asking for a url , I'm lost! anyone able to help?

Add your picture to a free hosting site like photobucket or flickr or similar, and then they give you a url (underneath each photo) which you should be able to copy and paste into your link.

Something like that! Sorry, I'm not very technical with web things either!

Tinypic (http://www.tinypic.com) is also a good place to upload pictures, you don't need to register to upload. Once uploaded, it will show you different boxes each with a different URL in it. If you copy the 'Direct Link for Layouts' and then paste that into the IMG box when you post it then you're pics will display in your post. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Hope that helps.
